Online surveys – advantages and drawbacks

Many sociologists or psychologists try nowadays different forms of collecting data to their research. And the most popular seems to be the online surveys. There are many both advantages, as well as drawbacks of that form of gathering some important information but it depends on the kind of research which Is carried out by the scientists and the conditions which should be taken into consideration while collecting data. If the online surveys have got a form of a test which can be done at maximum thirty minutes and there is made an assumption that somebody can cheat, it is possible to carry out a research with the usage of the Internet. Of course the scientists must take into consideration the fact, that not the representatives of the whole population will be examined, but the certain group of Internet users who are quite specific. If that assumption will not do any harm for the results of the online surveys, they can be freely carried out without any doubts and the data collected in that way will be reliable.
